Can anyone here cook?
What kind of things you all cook? Im talking like proper meals, not like ready meals or beans on toast.
Reason i ask is, the other day me and a few mates went to a mates flat and he cooked us all dinner, was a casserole and proper tasty. Made me think i cant really cook anything exciting

Was a chef for 2 years so reasonable! My favourite things to make are Thai green curry, fajitas, or any pasta dishes!

Start easy. Curry, Mexican stuff etc
You can get kits that only require you to be able to cook meat in a pan. If you can't do that then you must be a complete donut

I used to be a cook. Think I can cook most things. I hate my kitchen in my flat though which puts me off doing fancy stuff.

Why buy the kit when all you need is cumin, corriander, chilli flakes, olive oil and a lime

I've always had a keen interest in cooking, as said start with easier things like Curry and Pasta dishes and expand from there. Personally I enjoy cooking Seafood most.
Couple of books I would recommend to anyone would be the following:
The Silver Spoon
Rick Stein's Seafood
Madhur Jafferey's Ultimate Curry Bible

I can cook and really enjoy it... The only annoying part is cleaning up afterwards.
I regularly cook stews, cassaroles, lasagne, bolonaise, fish pies, pasta bakes, proper salads, sheppards pies, various soups etc
cooking is generally easy since most things can be oven cooked or fried, it's just timing (as someone mentioned). It's easy to make food taste good, it's a bit harder to make it taste great.
The other day I cooked a whole duck marinated in plum sauce, with cinamon, star noise and brown sugar... Mmmmmm

Now Duck is a seriously hard dish to cook well, that little bit too long and you might as well feed it to the dog!
