I really fancy a Clio V6 but £8k for a MK2 Clio with the front end of a Laguna in the boot seems a bit steep

You can get a MY00 3dr clio for less than a grand, a MY00 V6 laguna for peanuts and a clio v6 GRP body kit for around £500..

Then obviously theres a good 6 months work required

Yeah it wont be 6 speed and it will probably drive like even more of a pig than the original V6 but the build would be fun

IF you think you can achieve the same (or better) final product for cheaper then do it

Agree with Ian, would pick a better engine & try to sort some of the issues the originals had.

It would be a project I would make a point of checking every day, and your workshop link would be well used

I'd get a high mileage phase 1 for £8k.

I recon I could build one for nearly half that then spend a couple of grand on goodies for it.

Going to have a serious think about it. For some reason I've got a real hankering for Clio V6.

I'm of the opinion that if you are going for a replica it has to be done to over and above factory standard to make it any good.

Age old saying goes:

'Why build what you can buy?'

You wont be able to build one as good as a factory one for the price of a used one. And they are a shit car anyway so why you would want to build one is beyond me!
