Theres an Airfield near my house, and very close to a number of others in the local area. Lots of light aircraft fly over etc...

Occasionaly i hear a slightyl more gruff engine note and bolt to the nearest window kicking the dog in the process or spilling my beer etc, only to be met with a small civilian plane of no interest whatsoever

Today i hear an engine note, think whats the point in getting up it always turns out to be a boring Cessna or something equally flacid. After a while i got out my seat and walked to the window:

It was a fucking Hurricane

I could just make out the stubby wingtips as it was flying off into the distance Gutted.

a Chinook flew over my house a couple of months ago.

I didn't have a clue what it was when i heard the bastard in the distance. we rarely get anything interesting flying round here so the "boom boom boom" noise of an approaching Chinook got me well excited.

Cadets rocked!! (air or scummy army?)

I'd deffo recommed kids to join up as you get to do so much that normal folk don't...

Like dangle out of helicopters, stand on flight decks or Hurcules when landing/taking off, flying a plane, firing guns
