The current advert of the father reading the story to his daughter does make me want to projectile vomit. Especially the 'is there a happy ending' bit at the end. They shouldn't trivialise such important issues, but to answer her question. There isn't going to be a happy ending and we're all fucked.

Plus the problem isn't really the Co2. We've known that global warming is a natural phenomenon that happens whether we like it or not, and we've known that relying entirely on a finite source of stuff to produce nearly everything we consume is a bad idea, yet we still do it. So, we're still fucked even if we stopped using oil tomorrow.

Exactly. It's just another reason to tax everyone and make them miserable, conveniently adopted by people who wear underwear made from leaves.

I'm sure when we've developed reliable nuclear fusion power, cut our greenhouse gas emissions and slashed hazardous waste to a fraction of what nuclear power produces now, there'll still be some tree-hugging hairy lesbians who want everyone to kill themselves to save a sodding polar bear from going for a swim.

I'm gonna go out and follow a Prius around in second gear for a while now. Offset his carbon footprint.

I do it all the time, not racing or driving quickly, just using a much lower gear than needed.

Ha. be smug now, Captain Planet.

They're pretty much at the top of the pile when it comes to cars that damage the environment when you consider what goes into making one.

Anyone who buys a Prius is missing the bigger picture, and will buy one purely to ease their own misplaced sense of guilt, whilst looking down their noses at other people who "don't care about the environment".

Owning anything in the Prius niche is basically 21st century self-flagellation anyway.

Same as scrappage. That does more harm than good.

And economically, the company who benefited the most is Hyundai.

Nice one Gordon.
