Ive got an afternoon track session on wednesday at bedford autodrome. Just checked my tyres and I have only about 4mm to 5mm on all four.

Just wondering if I should get some new rubber before then or use the session to finish these off

Might just play it safe and get some new uns as its a 2 hour drive home to crash get pulled over on if they wear alot

Just seems a shame to take them off already.

I'd just kill off the old ones. Then get some new ones. Can't see the point in wasting a set of tyres that still has life in them IMO.

Not worth the fitting and balancing costs imo

Better than paying for another set of tyres again, and fitting & balancing costs.

Gav, don't worry about about them. They will be fine.

You will probably lose at the most 2mm, if that. You've got to remember how light that tin box is of yours. It will hardly wear them.

Shouldn't be too bad on that surface although I would have had new ones one so I got the best out of the car on the day! Old tyres isn't going to drive as well.

Isn't bedford autodrome quite a twisty, slowsih track?
You will prob need new tyres after the day I would say, I would say tyres take more of a pounding on these tracks than faster less twisty ones.
If rubber starts rolling up on the tread, your tyres are working well.

I thought bedford was tarmac? Either way you will be fine with 4mm.

3 hours solid and going in too fast I would believe it. I've ruined fairly new ones on airfields before now.

I use soft cut slicks on my daily driver. I couldn't kill them on a track day, even when my charged lump goes in.

Its a good circuit mate, i work in the old aircraft hangers as you drive in! You might be ok with the tyres, but worth having 2 for the front i think. Hope you have a good time

I did 6 hours at Brands (not the whole time) and about 90 laps or something and barely put any wear on my tyre and I was proper having it. I took a new set with me to get changed around the corner just incase but didn't even really need too

This tyre was pretty low to start with I really thought it was gonna be screwed by halfway through the day

But that's it after driving 20 miles to my mates garage so not bad at all really. Those are T1-rs too
