as part of mums christmas present i said i would have a go at sorting her paintwork on the elan cos it was look pink and pretty bad cos its been sitting outside cos her new house had no where under cover!

not really been into detailing or anything like this before so i totally admit its not something i am good at but thought i would have a go instead of paying someone! lol

its had paint in it few times in its life and paint was very misty!

soooo she dropped it off last night, like this

then i buffed the car late last night till around 1am with g3

and put some dodo juice lime prime on, left it over night! was up at 6.45 to do breakfasts at work and then headed back to the shed, took the lime prime off and then put laywer of crushed orange soft was on, buffed that off then put coat of bannana hard wax, i think thats wot i was anyway, lol

pretty pleased with it, alot beta, still not great but thats partly to do with it being few different shades of red! re spray needed i think!

parked up

mum was not happy with brakes and are pretty well known for being rubbish on elan, so she just got set of 4 pots, hehe, quality:-)

It does look better but you are right its fooked.

The paint still looks completely lifeless, no depth, shine or anything.

Could get some professional paint correction carried out?

Looks a lot better mate, but only certain levels of correction can be acheived once the paints fooked. A light wet sand to the entire thing may help further, but not fully.

Only other thing I would suggest is to refine the finish with a lesser compound after the G3 to restore as much gloss as possible and remove buffer trails that will almost definitely be inflicted by the G3 correction stage. Something like 3M ultrafina is ideal. Dodo Lime Prime afterwards then leaves the paint squeaky clean from polishing oils ready for the wax

keep up the good work though mate - enjoyed reading ur recent threads again

i have g10, should i have used that after the g3? and before the lime prime?

impressed with do do juice, was easier to work with then i expected!

got a tester pack from top gear/mph show for £20, with lime prime and the soft and hard waxes in little tubs! went straight to the little dodo juice stand cos i see you sell it so guessed it much be good stuff :-)

Not fully sure of whats what in the Farecla range, but if G10 is less abrasive, then yes that'd have been a good one to use after the G3. The Lime Prime will just add extra wetness to the finish and leave the paint ready for wax on a correction job. On it's own its able to enhance paint but not offer huge levels of correction (just knock out light swirling etc)

Dodo stuff is very easy to use though, and also nice to use because of the smells
