rite basicly i know someone that has one of these and im thinking of buying it for a runaround. its in absolute perfect condition tax'ed MOT'd but never gets used as the bloke is a greenpiece type of plonka! lol could it look cool or not?? also anyone know anything about these as i cant seem to find any info on them at all realy?

What year is it?
91 J onwards was facelifted and early days of vag ownership IIRC
I had a H plate one as my first car.
100bhp and 950kgs iirc.
the 92 J facelift I had later on was a much better built car.
How much does he want for it? these are incredibly rare now.

There was also a sportline version using a 1.7 lump.
They were always ugly but used to surprise a hell of a lot of cars back in the day when most hot/warm hatches were around 100bhp
System porsche engine was a revvy little sod and pulled well. Gearbox was crap, handling was very average but no worse then either of my corsas.
I would imagine a lot of parts hard to source now and even back then it was almost impossible to get aftermarket parts for them.

could never find aftermarket suspension for it anywhere. I think it runs leaf springs on the rear as well?
Try find a pic of a facelift, still ugly but huge improvement.
