They SHOULD be able to do it with whats on the system, obivously a reciept would help, if so they will send it off for repair, not a good time to do it over xmas, did it with mine 2 years ago, took them 6 weeks for it to come back exactly the same!

if you still have a bank statement with the date on, then its possible, but it has to be the store you got it from.
If you know the day, then they just have to sift through the records for that day. can take a while though, so be prepared to hang about whilst they find it...the system is shite!
They will have to find the reciept so AEL will repair it, and having that date ready is a major help!

if there like my store, and chrex's
then a bank statement, and they can re-print the recipt.
the recipt is vital to having it repair'd the compy is used by halfords. but i dont think is own'd by them so they will want a recipt as they wont get credit for the work they do.
same with anything really

The manufacturer will be the ones who will honour the warranty, you ought to get away with taking it back to Halfords with no receipt.

yea but theres no proof that he didnt get it elsewhere. a bank statement suffices tbh, but a proof of purchase is needed for return/repair regardless of the situation. Even if its a day old.

as said you would need a bank statement, or if you ask nicely at there discression, they can go through there ej system and find it for you as long as you roughly what date and it would help details like what till you paid at

no, halfords system struggles with looking for a date and item code.
its run on fresh air and good luck.
if, and thats a massive if, the serial number was scanned, the system wouldn't search for it as there are too many varieables and it would just refuse to search for it.
trust me ive try'd

Its funny how at our place people come in to return things and say its on your computer, pointing at the till. You can pick up 10 radio boxes and all the barcodes are the same. The only way to prove would be if you paid by card. Otherwise it could have been bought anywhere at any time.

no worries, if u think what i said is right then ur the sort of customer who really fucking winds me up
you wouldnt buy a car from 1 dealer, then go whinging to another dealer that its got a problem and expect him to replace the car for u.
so why with phones?
do love carphone whorehouse tho tbh, cant beat pushy salesmen ey

They will have but they only scan the barcode for the price. Usually 2 on the box, one for price and 1 is random i think. Shame they are never tracked.

thats fooking silly then, surely would make it easier to be tracked for exactly this reason, when they need repairing

nahh man I go whinging to the insurance haha
but I see what your saying, and that seams a good plan tbf, surely there's a way of tracking them like that, or is it still under warranty, that seams an easier method, although still the reciept problem :-/

if there tracked then it doesnt matter if the customer loses the recieipt.
if u bought a fone from me but had no receipt, i could check it instantly and providing it was, and stil in warranty would get it repaired etc
surprises such a big firm like that hasnt got anything in place
suppose they gota make u lot earn ur £££'s lol
