Does anyone know why their residuals are so bad as I've seen loads that have done low miles for sale well under £10K?
Has anyone experienced one?
Not expecting a huge response but most other sites are blocked while I'm at work.
Cheers

Heavy on fuel and high road tax at a guess?
People think the rotary engine is unreliable too. I cant comment on that, no experience of them.

High running costs, servicing, tax and insurance make it a little less desirable. When I have been forecasting future values, the one single factor that hit prices were the lack of knowledge, confidence and the unknown quantities when maintaining them. Great value for money IMO

As Byron said Great value and they drive soooooooo well!
Just you wont get more than 25mpg even when trying hard and it uses a lot of expensive oil...so much so the boot has a ompartment for back up oil.
I'd have one through for a short term punt

I forget what the recommended amounts are, but I think they use atleast a litre of fuel every 3 tanks of fuel?

The manual recommends checking the oil after every two tanks of fuel. But after around 4 months of owning it, the oil hadnt budged.
They do drive very nice, quite like a Honda, you really have to rev them hard to get a good beating out of one, and they are a very nice place to be.
They use ALOT of fuel.
Tax is £222 for 6 months.
Servicing is a real crippler. As are all perishables (tyres, brakes etc)
Mazda are putting out alot of good cars lately IMO.

Well they cant be that bad if you see the mileages they have been clocking up. Ones on the trader wilth circa 80-90 k miles.
Plus if you work in London you wont use it that much tbh so enjoy it when you can

My mate had one, I liked them but could never own one... in comparison to the type r the running costs are very high (so not very good value for money).
Funky looks, RWD, suicide doors + 50/50 weight distribution
In terms of speed they are fairly quick my mate had the 230bhp model and there was nothing in it between his car and the civic.
He used to get 21mpg I can average about 29/30 mpg
Although in saying this the type r and the rx8 are different beasts in their own rights
