We want to sell some old mobiles and I had a look at some of those phone recycling sites, seemed OK prices quoted although a few phones we could make more money on by selling on eBay even taking into account fees etc.

A load of review sites tell tales of these companies claiming the phones sent in were faulty even though they aren't etc., has anything like this ever happened to anyone off here?

Still undecided TBH.

If you reckon that you can get more on eBay then I'd do that.

I sent two phones off to Mobile Phone Xchange, on one of them the front cover only had one clip left on it and was seriously scratched but they still gave me the full amount. Never would have gotten as much on eBay. A bloke at work sent his N95 to them as well after I used them, no complaints from him either.

Just put in a "sell order" with Mobile Phone Exchange for my SE K800i and Nokia N95. They offered me £112 for both of them which is decent. Wait and see what I end up with

Just used mazuma, As said they pay out pretty quickly too.

Think also with the phone recycling place there is less hastle further down the line, With the ebay buyer coming back to you for a refund.

Sod ebay and the recycle sites. I sell my phones on the forums. No fees and can get a little more than the websites.

This is pretty much what has been reported on most of these 'review' websites I looked at. I think my brother sold his N96 to Mazuma, not sure if they knocked any money off though - the phone was pretty mint IIRC.

http://www.mobilephonerecycling.co.uk

Use that for getting the best price.

Although it's done on desirability rather than age/original cost which is why the 2 you mentioned probably aren't worth much.
