A family member has just sold her car, Pug 206 and is looking at a new car.

She has seen a 1.2 Corsa C

£179 a month

£2000 deposit

That seem aright?

And where is best place to go? Local car dealers? Vauxhall?

Not at the moment. If you have a decent deposit you can usually get 0% on car finance.

IMO £179 a month for a new car, especially just a 1.2 corsa is a lot.

That is most certainly a shocking deal. A 1.2 Corsa that will cost over £12k? GTF

Which would be 0% finance, like someone mentioned. But £179pm x 60 months is £10740, add the £2000 deposit and you have nearly £13k.

If she's looking for a Corsa, try Peter Vardy.

Nobody pays that price, you will get an SXi from the dealers brand new for 9k with haggling.

A VXR can be had for 14k easily.

Sticker price will be around 10k, depends on what you have to offer. If you have a 50% deposit you will get more off it, if you are paying it all upfront you will probably get it even cheaper.

If you turn up with £50 quid in your pocket and want it on the never never for the next 10 years you will end up paying full list price.

Swings and roundabouts.
