Seriously, I think your season is screwed should he leave this month.

He will help Newcastle cement their promotion back to the PL but he won't be a star should they get back. More a third choice striker.

marc i agree totaly.

i cant see where our goals are guna come from? can we really rely on snodgrass, becchio or johnson?

but ive always said, if beckford left leeds i cant see him being as prolific at any other club. but yeah, 3rd choice striker.

i just hope we find a replacement

Becchio is pretty average, he gets you a few but hes not on a par with Beckford so I can't see him stepping up.

He will be brilliant for us in the championship but if we do get promotion i don't know how well he will cope in the PL.

Maybe he could become a class striker in PL? Maybe a few years ago, although still only 26 years old

i do actually rate him as a finisher. and im not just talking about the goal against man u.

the one thing i notice compared to premier league strikers. he never comes out of his own half, never see him beating defenders with pace, never see him winning many headers in his own box......

but as you say, only 26. he may do ok.

Nope, going to be a flop. Hes being signed because he scored one goal against United.

yeah id go with that. i mean he could be a championship player next season with leeds anyway. i dont see him as premiership quality striker. look at ameobi, bangs them in in championship. couldnt in premier league.

id kinda be happy if harewood came back on loan to newcastle and played a few games instead.

tbh I bet he'd be happy sitting on the bench in the PL on a nice wage.

He isnt that young is he? Plus was late in to the game. So he is bound to try and get the biggest (and possibly only) big pay day he can and sit on it.

Thing is, he's out of contract in the summer, so Leeds should be happy with £3m (I believe that's what's being quoted) instead of him hanging on and fucking off in the summer for nothing.

The guy's a self centred arrogant prick. Fair enough he scores a lot at lower levels, but I agree with the above comments, I don't think he'll cut it in the premiership.

Yes he may have took his goal well against united but imo it was a bad first touch, and even worse goalkeeping from kuscshat backing away from the ball like it was a bomb to give him the chance to score. If the keeper wouldn't have hesistated he wouldnt be getting as much coverage.

I think he's mid table championship class, look at jason scotland, banged them in in the championship, couldn't hit a cows arse with a bango in the prem

been saying this since the game... didnt think i'd find somebody that agreed but finally... thankyou sir

as for beckford... hes scored a lot of goals, some of them have been real class... but i can't see a reason for leaving leeds other than for the money

as has been said newcastle are pretty much nailed on for promotion, as are leeds, and i think we are all agreed in saying beckford is not a premiership quality striker, so why move?

If that's the sort of striker they want, they can get Boyd cheaper

He'll probably do ok in the championship but he's never PL quality imo he needs too many chances to put the ball away and he's not exactly good at holding up the ball and distributing it well whilst in attack, he reminds me of a poor mans darren bent.

He is worth £2m if he had a full contract, but he could be on a free in the summer, is he really going to do that much in a few months that makes him worth £2m?
