Looking to go Sharm El Sheikh for a week at the end of the month. Just me and a mate going - fancy a bit of winter sun.
Never been before so looking for some advice (I imagine a few people on here have been before).
Looking for a top notch hotel with a decent gym (maybe a golf course nearby) and access straight onto a beach, also want to be relatively close to the town centre.
Also - do any of the all inclusives actually have really good food or am I best off going b&b and eating out?
Any advice would be much appreciated.

No, but be careful of getting the shits.
Drink your own bottled water mate, most people I know (Also people on here.) Have had a bad case of the raging squits.

^ My mate went to Egypt for his honeymoon, said it was fucking scorching hot but he got food poisoning as they didn't cook the chicken properly and the water is rancid.

stay in namma bay cause you got all of the shops etc.
yes you will get the shits, unless you go to the pharmacy out there and get tablets to prevent it from happening, not may people know this.
but otherwise its a nice place apart from the taxi drivers.

I didnt get the shits when I went out there. Stayed in the Sheraton iirc. Private beach etc.
I did however get into a rogue taxi that attempted to hijack us and we subsequently had an accident and an innocent tourist was run over and nearly killed. I wont be going back.

Most people get the shits because they get too much sun and not enough fluid

I went to Hilton Sharks Bay - ate pretty much everything there was going (various meats, etc), drank their beer, had ice in my drinks, etc. and didnt get ill once in the 2 weeks I was there.
Others did though, but then again you can in a lot of foreign places given the heat and the difference in food.

Yeah i like the look of hilton sharks bay. Only thing I noticed is that the all inclusive doesn't seem to include booze? Is that true? If so - was booze expensive in the hotel?

It does include booze, or at least did for me back in May.
If you do go in there, insist on being put in the new part of the hotel. Its 10x better than the older part, the rooms are much much bigger and nicer, and the bars and restaurants in this part are better.

As long as you're sensible with everything I see no reason why you would get the shits tbh, have a look on tripadvisor at any hotel names you find, and you'll get pretty reliable reviews on there
