hey everyone in the process of puttin more power into my x16xe corsa at the moment its got a janspeed 4-2-1 manifold with matching decat im in th middle of purchasing a mantzel powerbox and a some highlift cams , i have some arp bolts to fit and after all is fitted im gona get it booked in for a remap and get a dastek chip fitted then have the rev limit raised to 7000rpm what figures am i looking at?

when i had 1.6 sport i board it out to 1.7 and cat back system

Have it remapped at 7000rpm. look at the dyno graph and see if it still pulls at 7000rpm, if it does then up the rev limit to 7300rpm, will probably get abit more out of it with a mantzel inlet as they like to rev high.

nope but some will say im lieing but i did beat a standard 8v.20 2 times the second time he tried he even let all of his mates out car so less weight i had it stripped tho aswell even the door cards were gone

It was probably a 115bhp 2.0 8v, not the 130bhp SRi engine.

7300 is a bit too much for standard rods though?

nah the standered rods and pistons are good i rekon with the arp's i would take it to 7500 max!

nxt door neighbor took his limiter off completely on his 1.2 8v fucked his car up more or less straight away

How far did it rev until it went bang then?

hahaha thats just plain stupid . i yous to have a 1.3 16v imported civic carbed engine had no rev limiter on it would rev till it blew wasnt my cup of tea tho

Rods should be fine upto about 7500-7600rpm, anything more i would prefer something lighter and stronger for less resistance. Aslong as arp's are fitted then wudn't be a problem.

only goes to 7500 is foot was planted all the way in 2nd then boom oil and water everywere

I would say around 145bhp, depending on what your after whether it be low-mid range or top end power, to gain anymore i would have headwork done as well, it will make the cams so much more effective.

on a tight budget so gona avoid any head work . but my milage is now 65000 so im gona remove the head and do the head gasket and timeing belt and fit the mantzel whilst the heads off !

start pouring creatine into your oil. you will see power gains.

yeah i have my own dremel so i could polish the ports out to match my gasket . thanks . im not a great beleiver in getting engines bored unless there damaged so wel see
