We have far more pressing issues than giving these people laptops. The cunt's lost the plot.

Providing the troops with sufficient equipment would be a start instead of throwing away £300m on something thats not going to change a thing.

Are people THAT deprived they can't afford a 2nd hand laptop? We're talking £40-50 here. I don't believe it. Even a doley could afford that.

why are you people pissed off now? When he first became in power, he said that this was one of his plans for the country. Pretty big waste of money tbh. why not reduce the wages of all the cunts in power and all the cunts we pay with our tax and spend it on useful shit? They are morons. We need more prisons so that murderers and rapists don't get light sentences, we need better education for our country, that's just basically investing in the countries future and we need to stop wasting money on shit like this, when it could be better spent in the NHS to reduce waiting times etc. Anything is better than this shite.

I was waiting for someone to post this, heard it a week or so ago, it's a joke really. They believe that giving laptops to chavs and retards will make them instantly clever and will improve their chances of getting jobs....
There's still no jobs out there, no matter how educated people are, qualifications don't mean a thing anymore as their easier to get so companies prefer experience.
They also said that deprived families will be able to keep in touch with their friends easier with free laptops and broadband... because that's what they should spend our money on, the ability for chavs to have facebook. Brilliant.
What happens when the morons download some dodgy porn, and get a virus? Just a free doorstop then as I guess they won't be able to afford, or have the knowledge to fix it?

I'm actually involved in this project...with working in a school.
We "gave out" 150 laptops about 2 years ago...over half came back broken beyond repair less then 6 months later. The other half....who knows.

I recall in 1997 just before the election labour were talking about how they were going to give a laptop to every secondary school child..
So judging by previous sucess rates I would say the chances of it happening are very slim.

i am shocked by this. when i first heard about it earlier in the week they never said how much they were going to waste. do they really think this will make scrubber kids do better at school? i never had access to the internet when i was at school and rarely had a computer to myself as we had to share between 3 of us. i still did ok in school. we really do have brainless pricks in charge of our country.

I don't know why you lot are so shocked by this, we already give 'deprived' families free houses and benefits etc. what difference is a laptop going to make.
I personally would have spent the £300m getting the able-bodied retrained in different careers/vocations or apprenticeships in other fields etc. so they they will have more of a chance of getting a job and thus be able to afford to buy their own laptop and Internet.
