How many pieces of footwear do people actually own?

I'll admit I was fairly surprised when I read through and saw people listing what trainers they own currently.

The way I see it...

I have 3 scenarios that I find myself in when it comes to footwear,

1. Work - As a few of the sites I visit require safety shoes, that's my first pair of footwear.
2. Night out - For this scenario I have a pair of black shoes.
3. The rest of the time - For this I have my trusty Reebok classics. For the 2-3 years (roughly) I've owned them they've helped me keep my feet dry in muddy Santa Pod fields, they've kept my feet comfy when climbing over rocks and such, they've also been there day in, day out whether I've just been pottering about the house, nipping to the shops or having to leg it after some thieving pikeys.

So can someone please explain why some people need to own so many shoes/trainers/ballet pumps etc?

I like the look of the top right pair, and the 2nd and 3rd from the left on the bottom row Alex.

Can't understand how people can have 3 pairs of shoes that cover categories;

1. Work
2. Night out
3. The rest of the time

Well the 'Night out' shoes do occasionally get worn in 'The rest of the time' category but I can't remember the last time I did that.

So what are all your shoes for? It seriously just makes no sense to me at all.

Why would I need a selection of shoes when 1 pair does the job? I rarely look at them so I can't really get bored of wearing the same shoes, they're just functional

On the same lines - do you have one set of clothes that you wear for either work, night out, or rest of the time?

Looks and handling, although I've since realised I should have bought smaller, narrower ones for handling.

But I actually pay attention to my wheels, footwear I rarely look at, apart from when tying my laces but my shoes don't have laces and I don't tie the laces on my trainers so there's only by work boots that get looked at closely

Black shoes
Brown shoes x2
3 plims (grey, white and black)
Nike trainers x2 and a pair of reebok
And a pair of black slip on shoes/trainer type with velco straps. Kind of like a smart trainer.

Tbh i only wear plims these days. Only wear black and brown shoes for work

Nah, they'd end up right smelly

Work stuff is all the same, just a few tops, polos and pants (that's usually more weekday stuff really unless I'm going out somewhere after work and have to get changed)

Night out, 1 pair of black pants, 2 shirts. I only generally have a handful of nights out in a year so having more than that's pointless

Then a few bits and bobs for weekends or weekday nights if needed.

I've never been big on clothes but they're obvious to anyone that looks at you so it's best to have a bit of a change.

Shoes I never look at, either mine or other people's

Nah I'll accept them, not got any myself, I think my old Classics that I kept for that purpose ended up getting a bit butchered somehow

So you've got 1 pair of trousers and 2 shirts for your nights out? Do you wear them all at once?
