a Volvo C30

I wasn't sure about the facelift model but I'm warming to it

They look cool, they seem fairly solid & they don't cost that much. Plus not everyone has one like you get with a Golf or A3. But at the same time it seems more grown up than say a Clio or Corsa & it's not got the same girly image of a Mini of Fiat 500.

My main concern is that they won't hold money very well & I'll be left with a car worth nowt by the time I've paid for it

Any thoughts I know a guy on here got one recently & he seems happy with it

An older, bigger one is probably a wiser buy.

Your reasons are valid though.

d5 is nice too , i test drove the pre updated version and unless they have changed the interior i wouldnt have one. handbrake/arm rest was just stupid and uncomfy to change gear imo.

they are nice looking from the front/side back however is just wrong.

They are nice. However, i can't justify taking out a loan on something that will get damaged and loose value quicker than you can pay off the loan.

I wouldn't take out a loan to buy a TV, i'd save for it. Same reason behind a car really. DEPRECIATION..

However, if i needed a run about to get to work and didn't have the cash to buy a car. Then i'd take out a loan.

I'm not saying loans are bad, it's just my opinion.

No, I think you mean interest.

The TV still loses money if you pay for it up front or on the tick, you just lose more on the loan credited version as you pay more

I saved & bought my TV, can't afford to do it with this though

Anyway, back to cars...

scrappage is done away with now isnt it.

Thats pretty good for a brand new car tbh.

What about a VW Scirocco GT? There great cars, grown up image....ticks most of your list.

I test drove a black one with Truffle leather when they 1st came out & it was nice!!

Scirocco GT is £22.5K before you spec anything in & the waiting list is as long as a schlong

Plus a mardy old cow at work has one, it's sort of put me off them.

£22.5K is a lot of money for a base model car, compared to this which is base model with a few exterior bits + leather

I think C30's look really nice from the front, just not so good from behind or inside. Very close to being a good car though
