Thinks that it would be funny to, instead of fix a problem try and duck tape it back together.
Say the windscreen washer hose for example! It obviously got pinched in the bonnet and so he/she used duck tape. How clever, my car failed the mot because of it!

Not exactly a BIG problem to sort out..
Come back and complain when someone has filled the engine with gearbox oil because it was knocking or they whacked a bottle of K-seal in to sort a head gasket leak!

If it was obvious enough to fail an MOT, then you should have picked up on it yourself tbh.

well not really, the windscreen washers were fine and they weren't leaking before I took it to the garage! Some dodgy stuff going on there I think!
I know its not a big job but its bloody well stupid!

whats the problem then, annoying maybe if you need to take car back for them to check but at least your not having to spend a big wedge getting the emmisions right or something

What's K-seal like? Does it leave residue everywhere in the system etc..?
I've got a punto GT with HG failure and was going to throw a bottle in to see how it goes on an MOT.. if the car fails badly I'll break it for scrap, if it passes I'll fix the HG

K-Seal is the nuts!
Dont put it in the header tank, put it straight down the top hose.

Does it actually do anything though? And is it ok with a turbo?
I'm worried that if I use it and pass the MOT, when I come to repair the HG properly I will be left with mess everywhere.
Also, the water has mixed with the (newly changed) oil... is it still ok to use K-seal?
One of my mates swears by it, but he's only used it on a 1.2 clio with minor HG issues

Didn't you read my 1st post?
I'm only prepaired to fix the HG if the car is otherwise roadworthy... I just want to be able to run the car upto the MOT garage without worrying about it overheating and fucking the turbo.
Provided it passes (or can pass for under £200), then I'll properly repair the HG... if not, then it gets stripped & scrapped.

At the end of the day, the lad still has to go back and get it retested. It's not a big deal no, but it's an inconvenience. He has the right to be pissed off if he so chooses
