So, all the car choices were boring cars apparently, and I should live a little. But going by my criteria, I struggle to find anything else.

So, the amended criteria is.

Sub 50,000 miles.
£4k to £5k.
Reasonable on fuel.
Reasonable on insurance.
Newer than 2000-W.

you havnt said what type of car you need. if your just after another hatch a corsa c falls into all those

probably get a 54-05 corsa c 1.4 or 18.sri for 4-5k with less than 50k

Pretty much - ideally an Astra/Focus sized car though.

I suggested that a 1.4 SRi but apparently they're boring.

I fail to see how any of the cars posted can be had for the money and conditions I said.

I dont know what you want from a car but if it was me I would still want fun to go with a car thats also good on fuel.

Insurance is fairly good
mpg not too bad on the petrol and good on the derv obviously
