It's a 'rip' of one of my favourite all time songs but I like it;

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JgZ4s7ThoG8

You just know it will be a pub quiz question in years to come; 'Who was the x'th person to sing on...' etc.

Buy a pallet of CD's and send them to Haiti, see if they like it more as it's utter shit. As said above it's just a group of celebrities wanting some media attention.

Does wind me up when Bono is on Tv preaching away about the money we should be donating. Hand some of your own over. You've got enough to last more than a dozen lifetimes.

exactly...

they won't cought up a proportion of their money...

Say you had £10k and you donate £100

that's 1% of all your money donated.

... Now imagine you're a super rich celeb with 10 million...

1% is £100,000

I don't see them dipping in their pocket for that. Fact is it's all good 'pr' and thats why they do it. Ricky Gevais is fairly upfront and open about it all, making a joke of it all...

'oh children in need? what do I get paid to help out?'

... 'Huh it's free?'

... 'wtf do I get expenses?'

... 'Good, I'll do it for free, providing I can charge a helicopter ride to the bbc on the expenses'.

I dont get the big deal about them getting the PR, as long as some money goes to the help fund then surely its a good idea?

It's the smugness.

Simon Cowel acting smug like he's king of the world. The celebs that sing their shitty line on the single grinning from ear to ear as they know album says are going to rise 400%.

------------------

They will deny this and say that the whole reason they're doing it is to help the haiti people out. But as we've said, you could donate a large chunk and keep the donation private if you were that bothered. However, they dont, they instead see an opportunity to get into the limelight and potentially raise their profile / career - and thus they do something in the light of the press that 'helps out'...

Yeah but who cares what they get out of it, they are going to raise money that could save some peoples lives.

Would you rather they didnt do this, and didnt be smug - yet raise no money?
