Is anyone else really pissed off with there mates?

One is a coke head and keeps pestering me to go out / lend (give) him money. Avoid this guy totally as the people he's involved with are the same as him. It's not long before he's put in hospital or something more serious. Been done for possession more than once now..

Another mate is involved with a load of skallys, one of which grassed him up over taking a couple of things from work. He's now in shit for that and lost his job. I don't like the company he keeps as again it's not long before he ends up in hospital.

Both these were really good mates of mine but just gone mental.

My uni mates have all gone back home. One met a girl from Iceland and moved away with her Another one doesn't stay in touch much and just thinks about saving cash constantly.

I've decided, i'm not having any mates from now on

Didn't think you had any to start with

I would rather lose by a mile because i built my own car, than win by an inch because someone else built it for me.

No. I have about 4 different groups of mates who dont really know each other, so if one group pisses me off i have others i spend time with.

Get new ones then. Go out and join an evening class or something.

Haha, I must admit I'm noticing the amount of mates I meet up with often is reducing...

I've always had the attitude of 'well I won't that much effort to initiate contact / stay in touch' and if people annoy me / make me feel bad, I don't hang around them.

but with most of the key social booms behind me, 'school', 'uni', 'travelling' and now in a job at work... I'm noticing number of people i see reducing

I blame travelling partially... there were a lot of local people I used to socialise with all the time. Then when I left everything was fine, when I returned I was trying to get my life back on track for a while (so kinda didn't bother getting in touch with them) - then realised I hadnt seen most of them for about a year and now completely drifted away...

I'll make an attempt to get in touch with them when I'm not so busy.

It's best to avoid the druggies you mentioned. My best mate, we were born in the same room, 6 days apart, been mates since birth pretty much, up until about 18 years old, a few years ago. Because he started on weed...then began trying coke, mushrooms, E's, kett, valium...and they've basically turned him into a cock. He used to flip his personality in seconds, one minute he was laughing with you, the next he was punching walls and shit. At the time I got kicked out from home because my mum knew I was using cannabis, I had nowhere to live but I told her the situation and she let me move in back at home, got a job, saved some money and moved out with my missus. Not spoken to him again since, despite seeing him several times. When I do see him nowadays he always looks like he's "rattling".

So yeah, I don't have many mates, but would rather it be that way than have mates that aren't worth being friends with.

These two lads have been my best mates for years. Starting to see some of my old school mates laterly though who i've not seen in years. Turned out decent lads. Sacked them off as they were in the pubs and clubs all the at the age if 16

Weird how things turn out.
