We are about to start drilling for oil in the falklands and Deisre petroleum have a platform 62 miles North of the Falklands which is firmly inside British waters.

Argentina reckons we are skirting UN resolutions and Venezuelas president is kicking off.

In a televised speech he said "The British are desperate for oil since their own fields in the North Sea are now being depleted"

He went on to say "Look England, how long are you going to be in Las Malvinas?, Queen of England im talking to you... the time for empires are over, havent you noticed? return the Malvinas to the Argentine people"

fucking disrespectul insolent spic if you ask me

What worries me is I remember reading that military analysts said we no longer have the naval power and resources to fight another war 8000 miles away from home

If they try it on again hopefully the United States will do more then provide behind the scenes intelligence seeing as we gave them so much support with Iraq etc.

cue epic falklands war quotes :

Brigadier Julian Thompson [cable to London reporting the recapture of South Georgia] "Be pleased to inform Her Majesty that the White Ensign flies alongside the Union Jack in South Georgia. God Save the Queen."

I wouldn't mind if I thought this oil would help us lower our prices... but the government will probably just stock pile it somewhere and then use it to control the markets further.

We have Typhoons there and more to come. I know this as they left straight from my work and flew straight out there brand new.

I would rather lose by a mile because i built my own car, than win by an inch because someone else built it for me.

Seeing as they are practically 3rd world scummers i assume they havent got any decent hardware. Have they still got their aging mirages? they were pretty formidable in their day.

Wouldnt have thought the MOD would be able to stretch the small arms supply to go into another major conflict.

There is only one supplyer of 5.56 and 7.62 in the UK and they working 24/7 to keep up with shooting the rag heads. The MOD do get very small amounts of SAA from one other supplyer at the moment; they are based in south america though.lol!

Argentina have take one of our vessels in port as well and wont let it go until some sort of resolution is met, think it was a Pipelay vessel going off the coast of Argentian a few weeks ago!

North sea oil running out, they have been saying that for 20 years With subsea engineering and drilling development going at the rate it is the North Sea will still be generating more Oil than Kuwait in 20 years.

Argentinains can get to fuck and let us have our oil that we earned fair and square

Even in the state the britsh forces are in they could well take them on and beat them, the naval fleet is so fucking old it was dire back in the 80s, the only threat is the amout of troops they have altough they pretty much are one of the shitest trained armys in the wrold, where as the british army has the best trined personel of any army FACT, and now pretty much with the best weapons money can buy

I'm also pretty sure it's more like 60 km not 60 miles. It's in argy waters, or at least the route to it is
