Parked up before on double yellows as popped into a shop for a quick butty.
Within 10 seconds a traffic warden was looking at my car with that hand held thingy they have...
Jumped out said its ok i move it now... She was like who the fuck do you think you are parking there... what right have you got to park there???
So gave her lots of abuse (has the worst sun bed tan ever!) she jotted something down in her book as i was driving off?
Whats the score am i gonna get fucked? Also can i get her done for swearing at me?
Yes i was in the wrong but her attitude stank!

you could file a complaint, would help if you have a witness. but that's not gonna help you if you get a PCN.
if you get a PCN for it then make sure there aren't any loop holes or mistakes on it. you may be able to beat it.

If something does come of it, go and break the yellow line with some turps or something, or the T bar, then you cant be done as the line has to be complete

deny it all mate. the only evidence that can be used is a photo of your car on the lines.

its illegal to stop on double yellows, I'd get fucked for that even if deliverying something from the van. IIRC
Personally, i very much doubt the traffic warden swore at you, and as much as we'd all love to shout at one, seems like you did wrong, got caught then gave some innocent a wad of shit.

Think you'll find you can load/unload on double yellow lines (Some restrictions can apply) for upto 20 minutes.
I'm a HGV driver and do it all the time mate.
Just make sure you read any signs around to show any restrictions.

as am i, and it's single lines you're legally aloud to unload for 15-20 mins, double yellows are for a reason.

Well that was just something one of my mates told me before..guess hes talking shite
How about this then...
Can they give you a ticket if youve stopped on double yellows..but because your cars just broke down?
Not your fault really is it?

Surely this all could have been avoided by not parking there

I think the warden has to see you there for 5 minutes or something, Don't think they can instantly stick a ticket on. Think if you're broke down and prove it you may still get a ticket but have to contest it.

I don't know if this is a nation wide thing, or just something they do round my way...
But when you park illegally, they take a photo of your car and stick a fine on your windscreen, and keep the photo as evidence, if you go to court later.
Also the fines round my way aren’t that much anyway. And if you pay them within (I think) 14 days, they reduce it too.
If you want to complain about her, you might have trouble if you don’t have a name or a badge number.
I would just wait and see. If you do get a ticket, her name or badge number should be on the fine.

I could've swore there's no parking at all on double yellows tbh
EDIT:
Quote from council website
"Double yellow lines mean no parking at any time of the day or night, seven days a week, 365 days a year. The double yellow lines do not require additional signage to be enforced."
