I know this has been a debate for a while but I'm going to do something about it.

Please don't try and defend bastardisation such as this on Dyslexia or other similar conditions. I know a number of users who are actually Dyslexic, some of whom make genuine mistakes based on this condition and some of whom you wouldn't even know by reading posts about that.

This is about laziness and the state of youth in this country, and it's a complete disgrace and I don't want it here any longer.

If you can spell and just don't want to, please make the effort to do so on here.

If you want to and can't, go to college and sort it out.

If you persist in talking like a four year old and show no means of improvement then the days of you being welcome are numbered.

there really isn't much need for shorthand and slang on a forum in my opinion, It's not a text message after all!

I think i come across pretty literate, my spelling isn't to great, neither is my punctuation, so feel free to correct me when things do go wrong

Text talk is just pointless though, and i struggle to read it. Correct wording and full words are not hard

EDIT: bollocks, found two spelling mistakes then FAIL

I'm not even after perfection, never have been. I just don't like having to read things three times.

I dont think its so much punctuation and 100% correct spelling its people takin the piss with it as with Ians example, I am a tad lazy and type as I speak like missing g's off the end etc, but you dont need to read it twice to know what it said.

It really pisses me off too! I think people actually think they are 'cool' typing and talking like, yeah there might be a group of people who are impressed by that kind of uneducated drivel but in reality they just come across like a complete and utter retard!

I'm slightly dyslexic but I make a real effort to write legiable posts!

Agree Ian, the problem seem to be people jumping on somebody's back when they first sign up and post, people should politely say "cut out the text-tard speak" instead of 'having a go'

On another not I have never understood text-tardness as it seems to take more effort to write like that then 'proper'

Yeh I also agree with this. If people have genuine difficulty in spelling, using correct grammar etc. then fair enough but it's clear from the way some people write on this site that that's got nothing to do with it but it's down lazyness and ignorance. I don't know about anyone else but when I read a thread started with awful shite, I just cannot be bothered to reply. Nice one Ian.
