Got some new wheels and they guy says they were ET49 but are actually ET45 will they rub on 45 profile tyres lowered 60 front 80-90 rear?

Only one way to find out mate try them on. 16's I take it? What size tyres are you planning to use? I reckon they'd be fine with 40 profile tyres

mine rubbed on the front at first, but it was abit lower than 60mm. can't really comment on the back as it was only 40/50mm

15s with 50 profile tyres btw

nice one. Get the tape measure out against your current wheels and see if there's room for 4mm less clearance

16"s will be fine.


I ran et40's on 16"

And if it doesn't, 1-2mm washer. Remove lowest bolt behined rear dums, put in washer, and it'll bring the top of the wheels in by a cm or so, and the bottoms outwards.

Modern kids call it stance, but we were there first with home grown mods

im running 195/45/16's 60mm all round with no scrubbing

even had an engine in the back and it didnt scrub

Is there any other ways?

Just had a quick look at the gap between the wheel and arch n theres more space on one side of the car between the wheel and arch than the other side

Front should be ok, rear may be a problem.

I had 17's ET42. Front rubbed occasionally over big bumps. Rear arches were rolled to flare them out.

i offered up one of my bbs rx2's when i had the corsa and there was loads of room, 195/40's look better and will obviously give better clearance

you shouldn't have any problems with ET45 16" imo

My 45 offset wheels rubbed on the front, had to grind a lot of the arch away. Rears were fine though.

Seriously?? The front?? What was you lowered by?

turbo up front, what poundage springs?

Very rare you hear the fronts rubbing? I know Donna's rub a bit, but shes got like et47 17" alloys, with the heavy engine up front, but standard poundage budget FK coilovers (would up high).

16"s though? Mine never ever touched at et40.

always is on the rear of corsa's its something to do when they was coming off the production line or something

Corsa C SRI wheels are ET45 16" so should be ok!

Edit: When i had my coilovers on i needed 3mm spacers to bring the wheel away from the strut. which in effect would have turned my ET49 softstars into ET46. I had no problems at all.

Im going to get my spare 195/45 tyre fitted to one of the new wheels tomorrow so i try it on all of the hubs to see if they are going to rub.

If its going to rub its going to be on the rears drivers side where the wheel is closer to that side of the arch.

I took a couple of pictures so will get them up later on.
