someone i know has just bought a landrover series 2a and its tax exempt and all the parts for it are really cheap, can rebuild suspension and brakes for £200.

has got me thinking what other semi-decent cars are tax exempt and still easy to get parts for.

i would like to drive around with the feeling of "i don't pay road tax"

that used to be the rule but i think it was 1972 ish they stopped it so anything pre 72ish is tax exempt nothing after will EVER be tax exempt

also has to be registered before 72ish as a mate of mine has got a 1967 landy but was used by MOD untill 1974 then registered for private road use and so isnt tax exempt he gave up arguing with DVLA after 4yrs lol

it would de-value it too much to alter it in anyway

it has full service history, one owner from new (1949) and a genuine 30,000 miles on the clock.....I shit you not

I had it given to me after it spent 33 years abandonded in a garage!

getting there now....I've still to fit a carpet and it really needs a leather interior, I restored the interior with a roll of cloth I already had to keep costs down.

and yes, 30k miles from new......starts on the button everymorning and drives lovely

and just incase you were wondering, it has a top speed of 70mph
