I was just wondering on peoples opinions of interior carbon. Now before we start its only for visual purposes so doesnt need to be light so i dont see the point in paying massive amounts for real carbon. I will have a go at it myself as im not too bad at vinyl wrapping if i take my time. But out of the options below what would you suggest? I can always laquer over the top of vinyl to add shine and improve wear.
Carbon fabric
Real carbon
Carbon vinyl

Hello Andy Its flexible though its basically a cheaper version of the BMW M series carbon leather so would the laquer not crack and flake?

you can get the proper fibre facric used to make things off ebay. i was thinking of getting some and covering a few parts with it. just clear resin it on and a few coats of laquer to get it shiny. carbon mods do a full kit for covering bits in carbon but i was going to get a massive roll of the stuff and do my roof with it

Might give that a go as its quite cheap for a big roll would just need a decent glue then 3m seems to be highly recommended on other sites

The only other thing was carbon dipping. Stelmi had it done on his corsa in the projects thread and it looks good.

Is that the 3m glue or the 3m carbon vinyl?

Lots of work needed but the finished product looks impressive.

And to think you have to pay extra to just have lacque on a Zonda. I know it's real, but it's still just for looks.

Try and laquer the carbon vinyl and it just turns black I've tried it as I was gonna carbon wrap some alloys and then laquer them to protect them but changed my mind

I don't think that lacquer would stick to vinyl too well if it didn't mess up the print either.

You can buy the kit of materials from them as well; Other videos/kits Paul has done include: Mould Tool Manufacture; laminating; resin infusion and there is one due shortly for vacuum bagging.
If there's enough interest in the kits, I'd be happy to talk to him about group buys/discounts etc
