Found it at work tonight, it was crawling down an isle covered in dust, so put him in a bucket of water and brought him home 
Worth any money?  Arent some endangered?
He seems happy now He was nodding his head around earlier. Doesnt do much else though

If its a great crested newt they're protected meaning you can't kill or capture one.
I've no idea what type of newt that is though

Let it loose. Yes its illegal to keep them as they are an endangered species.
I get quite a few every year in my lower pond. They are very placid and wont do too much.
If you are foudn killing one, I think the maximum fine is something mad like £5k!!
That one to me looks like a Great Creasted Newt. Its actually our most endangered species of newt, so might even be worth contacting a local reptile club to see if they can breed it!!!!!!

They eat insects.
They actually spend most of their time out of water, hunting the grass/leaves for insects to eat.
They go back to water when its hot (obviously), and when mating season.
I've only got 1 at the moment in the pond (that i've seen), its white, not sure on the breed of it yet. But i usually get about 10+ breeding.
I think their awesom. Currently got 2 frogs who are stuck together to keep warm as they obviously woke up too early, and it got cold again.
I love spring, birds building nests, wildlife being born. Tis a good time of the year.

either lob it over a fence and deny all knowledge or phone someone for advice.
i tried to help some kind of bird of prey that crashed into my house and nearly got in all sorts of trouble, just because i picked it up and put it in a box for the night, i would of actually been better off not doing anything for it

i found one at the start of last summer, put it in an old fishtank and it had loads of eggs the next day, they all hatched so i then put them in the neighbours pond

Really you want to identify if it is a native newt - If it is then release back into the wild - Find somewhere rather damp etc.
If it is not native keep it in a tank can make some nice set-ups, my girlfriend rather strangely has two. Get some moss and some large rocks for it to come out of the water on...
Oh and just bit of advice it can be quite harsh on a newt to handle a newt wit your naked hands - As something from our skin can be quite dangerous to them (Well so I have been told)

Wash and dry the newt. Melt butter in a small pan then add the newt and cook at a medium heat for a couple of minutes stirring constantly. Add garlic, continue cooking & stirring for another minute or so. Stir in a dash of pepper sauce and season with just a touch of salt and pepper.

People can take turns in having it at there house? I imagine when it goes to jay-corsa-gsi house pictures will be discovered of it up his missus clunge.
