Split about a month ago now after being together 8 months.

Now we bought a car together for £500 at the time and went halfs. It was a bargain and we knew its probably worth £900 I then bought a new car in Jan and she was going to buy me out of it. It was registered in her name for insurance purposes as I had my insurance on another car which I was selling.

Now we have split and she owes me money £250 plus £70 quid tax i paid at the end of Jan.

She has had the car up for sale but saw it the other day and the for sale signs have gone, but all her stuff still in it so she must own it still.

I've text her asking how the sale is going and that i need my money. She ignored my texts yesterday.

What can I do? I have the V5 doc but no keys. OR should I just accept that its unlikely I get my money back?

Technically it's hers so make her life very difficult to collect the stuff for it that she needs but you might have to suck up and take the £250 loss. At the end of the dayit's not THAT much money.

Hence, why, from this day forward, I will NEVER go halves with a girlfriend on something. Fucked me over as well, I lost a damnsight more than £250

Not a huge amount to walk away from, technically if jade bins me now she can take half the house.

This will change.......

It has to, or you will never be in a close committed relationship.

When you buy a house, well theres 1 thing, sofa, bed, tv, computer, kitchen utensils, cupboards.

Your view will change

£250 really is nothing tbh. Consider it payments for sex You pay in one way or another

Or if she's not playing ball just go round at 2.37am on Sunday, nitromors over the paintwork, slash the tyres, brick the windows & post pic's of her snatch in her neighbours letterbox's.

You'll be saving up until your 45 to do that then & likely wont pull any meat because you still live with your mum

Sounds like your sorted then!

My house deposit fund was £35k & I still needed a 2nd applicant to come on board to get the mortgage, not that its a problem cos I trust her 110%

If your name is on the V5, the car is yours. Get some insurance on it and knock on the door, say take your shit out, give me the keys, and be done with it. She has no proof she paid half; does she? lol. You could even give her a complimentary round house kick in the pussy for being cheeky.

Dont think it works like that, name on the V5 doesnt prove ownership just who the cars reg'd to.

It would be a case for the small claims courts & he'd have to prove that he contributed to paying for it.

Something like a receipt to show you £250 down I'd guess. Not so easy as i'd imagine it was a cash sale.

If his name is on the V5, and they have no receipt, surely the V5 is the only thing they can go on; as it will be a your word against mine case.
