Failed on snapped rear coil spring.
I had both rear coil springs replaced on 17th November 2009 at to the tune of £289.78 @ main dealers.
Cars done 1500 miles since then.
This is the same main dealer that fudged my brakes.
Damn BMW.

This..... I've they've got any sense they'll sort it, especially after the issue with the brakes... It doesn't say much about their workmanship does it really.

Almost drove down to wedge the car over their showroom entrance & tell them its not moving until I get given a car to use & a promise it will be fixed & mot'd for me coming back from my business trip next week, other wise its staying where it is.
Jade stopped me and calmed me down though!!
Between BMW & Mini experiences they've got to be the worst ive ever encountered. Wont be getting another BMW now, & very tempted to sell this one now.

Absolutely nothing to do with their worksmanship though is it, not their fault that a spring they buy off a supplier has broken.

Mini dealership was given the simple task of swapping Jades No Plate to her new car. It took them 2 weeks to sort out when they said it would take 1. Then when we went on dvla site to find it was now reg'd under the new plate they couldnt find the doc's, then found the tax disc in the salesmans intray, then eventually the rest of the docs were found (probably in the bin or used as a coffee coaster!) then when she went to get them put on they handed her the plates & said Chris (salesman) said we were just to give them to you........................Why the hell would anyone want that!?!?!?
Idiots!!
Took us about 15 phone calls to chase that one up, otherwise it probably still wouldnt be done.
WTF's happened to customer service!!

The car5s hardly turned a wheel though. If it actually has been replaced (doubt it - looks corroded!!) then I will need to question what sort of materials they use.
I think a spring made out of old chewing gum picked off the street would last more than 1.5k miles!!

shouldn't be corroded at all mate. when i took the standard springs off the focus after 6000 miles they still looked brand new.

E46 rear coil spirings are notorious for breaking. It wont be a fault with them fitting it however I would still think they would replace it under warranty. If they said that they have replaced it then they would of done. They may however try to say that you might have it a pothole etc to try and get out of it. Genuine parts usually have a fair warrantly with them though.

Yeah I know, mot guy said one looked new & the other didnt.
Ive been invoiced for 2. On the advice that 'BMW recommend replacing in pairs!!'.
Im fed up with this damn car, the dealerships mistakes/chronic failures of Gen BMW parts is making me want to get rid of it.
Tempted to sell now & get saving for a 996 C4S....maybe a Turbo.
