looking at selling a few gold chains and a ring that i have had for some time, dont wear them anymore so looking at selling them (and other things to get some money)
obviously the gold has gone up in price, as every other advert on tv is about cashing your gold..
just wondering if anyone has done it? whats the rate there selling per weight?

Was watching "This Morning" a bit back and they said that they give you about 7% of the gold's scrap value. I'd steer clear tbh unless you're proper desperate.

go to goldprice.org....the price shown is a troy oz of pure gold...divide that by £/$ exchange rate gives u troy oz in £ now divide by 8 x 3 for 9ct ..divide 12 x7 for 14ct divide 4 x 3 18ct ....divide that figure by 31 gives you a price per gram

I believe most of them offer a price of around £1.50- £2.50 per gram, when its value infact is worth closer to £3 per gram.
I might be wrong though.

My sister took some stuff to a proper jewelers and it was £8.50 per gram ended up with just inder £1000 for all her unwanted gold.
Online ones seem dodgey some places offering £14 per gram etc, just better to go there rather then send things in the post.

How do they know if its pure gold when you go to a retailer (eg cash for gold actually shop) and they give you cash there and then?
Might as well paint some lead gold.

My mrs took some shitty old bangels and odd earings last week instead of chucking them away and walked out with 400 quid. Brand new it probably only cost £100.
