While I was in BMW dealers getting robbed again, they had a 03 CSL in the showroom.

Impressions:

Seats very uncomfortable.

Not as nice inside(as mine)......obv. meant to be more raw but it was very basic, no toys. Maybe I missed the point.

Showing its age....scuffs on the interior, wheel worn, paddles knackered, not very fresh looking as i'd have hoped from BMW dealers.

Overall:

Not worth it at all for the 20bhp extra & carbon trim when you consider it would be £12k it would cost to change.

Nice to finally sit in one though!!

It would be worth it to someone who wants to use it as it was intended though?

Its not about being massively faster, its about it being more pure and responsive and a better driving experience.

Worth the money if you would want it, if you had to use it everyday the normal M3 is obviously the better choice...

Someone I know has one, 401bhp, left my bike for dead, therefore I am impressed with them big time.

Yes it's not a comfy car, but that's not the purpose of it.

No mate, I'm not sure what it had done to it as I had no interest in cars at that point but it definetly wasn't supercharging. For a car to leave me when I'm flat out down the M25 makes it pretty impressive tbh so I've loved them ever since.

To gain 50BHP with N/A tuning on an already heavily tuned lump would be quite a feat though?

Surley must had have forced induction of some manner.

Still its a car sold everywhere though, BMW will map the engine so jo bloggs can put shit fuel in it. you can tune and map engines to run on a certain fuel grade and see gains

I like them but when i drove a few at a BMW bodyshop i used to work at i found them very annoying to manover slowly, think it was obviously due to the gearbox but seemed to have to rev it high to move it then it julted to far and had to slam on brakes.

and i couldnt live with a alcantara wheel for everyday and as u have found out wear alot.

Used to think they were the gods weapon of choice, now think pretty average and not that fast considering they are billed as one of the best driving experiences.

Guys message back:

I had a stage 4 conversion which consisted of Head work, Cams, Tubular manifolds, Full race exhaults with sport cats, power pack upgrade, blah blah lol

Here my power graph when its was @ stage 3 where it made 391.7bhp http://i31.photobucket.com/albums/c363/angel_raven45/CSLstg3ATW.jpg
