sr-91 hope you were being sarcastic.

it's the proper way round for proper wheel drive cars.

stunning focus mate, some normal wheels and that would be a brilliant sleeper, although the wheels are lovely.

Only messin' boys, I wouldn't dare drive a Corsa....too much for me to handle I have a runaround Puma though

Huwsi's my cuz, so I thought I'd mingle a bit on here with you guys too.

Some more pics and info (ignore comments, copied off other forum)...

Had the MOT, passing with flying colours. And just about made it to the DVLA 5 minutes before they shut so I could pick up my tax. All well so far!

But afterwards, I took a drive up to see Cossie guru John Coles and she developed a bit of a knock on cylinder 1 and the oil pressure was way below par. So popped over to John's next day and we got to work. This is how she looked by the afternoon...

Taking the engine appart, the oil pump was obviously well shagged judging by the scoring inside....

But looks like it was caught just in time, not much wear or damage or anything else. So all in all I feel alright about having the engine come out. It can now be rebuilt to a better spec using new components all over.

Spend this morning painting and rebuilding the inlet manifold, cleaning the sump and giving it a lick of paint and a few other little bits n' bobs.

Freshly honed and painted block, polished crank and skimmed head. As John Coles tells me, I've come off as a bit jammy with the oil pump failure, because the majority of the engine was not damaged...woop woop! So replacing near enough every part anyway as a matter of course, can't wait!

Probably a gearbox rebuild very soon, whine's like a bitch in 4th

John and I did a bit more work on the engine and car today. After stripping the entire head and leaving to soak in a bath of petrol, she was cleaned up and air lined dry before having new seals fitted and the valves lapped. The block had a few bits fitted, but majority of the work will happen mid this week when one or two parts arrive to finish the whole engine off

Also fitted the bush to the bottom of the steering column, since the steering was a "little" shakey  but there's still another part to fit to the column before we're happy.

Crap pics, but you get the jist. Empty engine bay...

Block with alternator drop bracket added...

New engine mounts...

Bottom end all torqued up and ready for the head. But thanks to f*cking Royal Snail, we're missing an oil pump gasket and collets to finish the head. Otherwise it would all be built and ready to fit into the car on Monday

Never mind, still enough excitement left, but deffo this week she'll be up and running....hopefully

A lot of work last night to finish the engine off, then "slotted" it into the car at around 12:30am  Spent today fitting everything up, so tomorrow she'll hopefully be fired up and the long 1k running in miles begin

Sorry for pic quality, crap phone

Proper oil breather setup

Diffy

Original filler cap been blanked off and smoothed, few dents and scratches rectified. Ready for a repaint, everything but the roof
