I am upgrading my HTC Magic when O2 get this.

If these take away the lag that the magic had I'll probably get one, Android was brilliant apart from that.

I liking the looks, specs and reviews of this phone. I'm just waiting for it to appear on O2 and I think I'll get one.

I was told around the 17th of this month for O2 to get it. How true that is I do not know.

Does it last a full 24hrs with normal usage (few calls, texts and a bit of web)? What's it like with the wireless/bluetooth off?
I'm tempted by the Desire but i'm after something that is better on the battery than the iPhone, which never seemed to last more than 10-13hrs or so of light-normal usage

you can get a full day easily tbh
but you would always want to charge it at night so its ready for the next day

anyone managed to get the alarm to work when the phone's turned off? I don't want emails, texts and calls waking me up during the night so have always turned my Nokia off and the alarm still worked. Doesn't with this though!

Every review I've read has said that but I wouldn't expect a smartphone with such a decent spec and screen, to be anything less. A daily/nightly charge is acceptable for me.
Cheers doug, I've read the end of the month but if sooner the better

I don't think there's a smart phone on the market these days with a decent battery, they are all brutal for it.

I got my iPhone nicked a few weeks ago & my contract was about due for changing. Looked around at all of the phones I really didn't want & couldn't decide what to get
Read a review on the Desire & thought I should give it a go. Managed to get it free on a £25 18 month contract which is pretty good
I don't dislike the phone, but I'm just not finding myself drawn in by any of it I mean the menu system isn't hard to get to grips with but its trickier than Apples
Also the apps are way off the standard of the App store. The facebook app is terrible & there's a lot of things you can't do. Plus they show things in friendstream that you can't view in friendstream - eg photos people have uploaded
The mail client is a bit crap. Currently showing that I have an unread message but I can't access it because it's older than two days & the settings are supposed to only show the recent messages. Also when I read a message it still says the message is unread
And why can't the web browser be the same as Apple's? You double tap a photo it should zoom to fit that photo on the screen. Same with columns of text
It has the potential to be good with a bit of work on the apps & widgets & sorting out the fucking retarded zoom system

Photos and stuff work fine for me on the facebook thing. Pull down the tab on the home screen to get rid of the notifications.
