No always, depends on how much the applicant earns as to how much you can borrow.
I couldn't get a 10% deposit and had to put in about 30% before they would give me one.

We paid 20%, wish we could have put down 25% but that would have meant selling cars etc & living on beans on toast
Think things have settled down a bit now......10% should be achievable if you have a decent credit rating etc.
