I would personally go for the Golf. Depends what you are looking for, Golf is something that will retain its value and build quality is generally better. I started driving a 09 plate corsa today and I prefer my VW polo which is 5 years older. The gearbox is shocking.

why the golf the inside looks i dull place to be in but the astra has a dash that comes down the center like ur in a cockpit <3

Agreed, the Astra does look nicer inside, but the Golf still has a good qaulity interior. Are you looking at ones with the sat nav?

Golf looks the better car.

the astras look nice in the flesh, I'd want to wait for the 3 door personally.
