I just walked past the door which leads to the library and the well and secret passage and heard a loud noise :/

What you should do is grab a chair, and park it facing towards the door with the creepy noises. Grab a bottle of Jack Daniels and sit swigging from it every 5 minutes, and after every swig declare "Come ahead wee man" to the ghosts and see what happens.
