Well after fitting my new valves and powerbox its all up and running but theres still a few little niggles.
Basically it idles fine, at the right amount and also steadily, yet when i put my foot down it coughs and splutters quite a bit before it kicks in and revs normally. The HT leads and spark plugs should all be fine as the leads are pretty new and the spark plugs are brand new. I cant find any air leaks but surely if there was one the idle would be shit. Can anyone think what it could be?
Could do with finding out ASAP as theres still loads i need to do before PVS!
Just put forward ideas and ill test it all tomorrow!
Cheers

if not, mine done the same, check the wiring loom behind the box, and see if there is any breaks in the wiring loom

air flow meter seems fine as the idle is fine its only under load below 3.5k. All the wiring is fine the only thing not connected is the EGR valve. Would that be the cause of the problem? Ive changed all the leads again and its not that.

Because ive fitted a powerbox the wires arent long enough to stretch from the TB to the EGR as they come from the same part of the loom. Im going to have to extend the wiring to connect it up.

no no no. i did that when i first put mine on untill i realised a solutiong. you know the black plastic casing around the loom, simply pull the egr wires through the split in the plastic all the way down untill it clips in your egr valve.all the other wires will stay in the plastic but these few will be out and long enough to fit. just make sure you wrap them in some tape!

I was going to do that but theres a couple of wires that seem to be attached to others. Black wire with white stripe and a brown wire. Both of them are attached to more wires

when i pulled my through, they came thru fine with no problems at all. i simply then put some tape around the plastic, to save other wires coming out, and wrapped my egr wires. job done for me. other wise you have got to cut and extend wires and thats a ball ache and not the best solution

try and free some slack out of the rest of the loom, to bring it closer to egr

I had a similar problem with my Corsa SRi, No matter how many sensors i changed , it still did the same thing, i even changed the ECU, i ended up selling the car , and the bloke who i sold it to put the engine into another Corsa, and it ran like new.
It was the wiring loom that had been chaffing, and was giving me stupid fault codes, and making the car run exactly how you are explaining, id check your wiring matey

sounds silly but if thier brand new plugs check that the little nipple on the very top of them is tight, because it happens sometimes when you get new plugs that they can be slightly loose and this causes a similar problem which can lead to alot of money being spent where you dont want it lol, hope this helps mate

Cheers lads. Might be a new loom at this rate as we've changed all the sensors and its slightly better but not brilliant. Weve changed - coilpack, leads, MAP, TPS, Crank sensor, cam sensor, coolant temp sensor, lambda sensor and its still the same. So i think i'll check the spark plugs but im sure they are tight and then its onto a new loom

It'll be alright! Have faith! How long do you reckon it'll take to swap a loom over? Do-able in a day?
