I truly cannot believe Bin Dipper supporters are sad that Benitez has gone.
Seriously he was fucking hopeless, ok he got the Champions League but that was really about it. He was never in charge of a serious attempt to win the Premier league and his tactics and the players he bought were shocking.
Trouble was he put all his eggs in one basket (Champions League) and when that failed he had no plan B. Shit player after mediocre player, throwing good money at frankly average players. The only one of any note was Torres who is class but the others he got were pretty crap.
Anyhow as an armchair Chelsea fan I'm gutted he's gone because he was fucking hopeless as a manager and it did all the other teams a favour him being there.

Whoever he is he talks tripe. I agree he had no plan B, but Torres wasn't his only good signing  Mascherano, Maxi Rodriguez (Not seen much of him in the PL yet but he's a top midfielder that was free!!) and Pepe Reina. The man who won the Golden Gloves award four seasons out of 5...

Yeah, Mascherano. Brilliant player isn't he? I mean it's not like he blows hot/cold and can flit between good and bloody awful at the drop of a hat is it? Never heard of Rodriguez so can't comment on him sorry. Didn't realise fatty had signed Reina, give you that one he's a good keeper. I'd still only have Torres, Reina and Gerrard in that order out of your squad though. The rest are just decent/average/poor in my opinion and that's been Liverpool's problem for far too long now. You cannot get by on a handful of good players and the rest just being average.
JonnyJ: Unlike some other supporters of some other teams I freely admit to be armchair Chelsea and have been for the last 38 years or so.
I do go and watch football though, I'm an ex-Chester City (40 years on/off watching them but they've now gone bust sadly) and current Chester FC supporter.

Strange combo. There is no way i could just support a team without actually attending games. I mean i "follow" Cowdenbeath as my Scottish team but i don't have any major feelings for them, not like York, not even remotely close.

York just missed out in the play offs iirc? Hopefully you'll be set for next season but you know how wank the Conference (BSP) is, I reckon you need to be out of it within a couple of seasons before you fester like we did first time round.

Yeah Mascherano blows hot and cold, but so do a hell of a lot of other players. He doesn't light up the stadium like most but he always does his job of breaking up the play well. Might make some daft decisions but he is a good player. I agree the rest of the squad is shit and Rafa has made some terrible decisions (Aquafresh), but so have a few other managers It'll be interesting to see who in their right mind will take the job though.

I find it absolutely incredible he can be labelled 'fucking shit' by anyone. He's been taking Liverpool backwards for a while now and has well overstayed his useful managerial career at Anfield but his record in Europe negates the fact he's been pish in the league a few seasons.
The almighty holy one Mourinho couldn't do in Europe with a Russian billionaire's money what Benitez did at Liverpool with far greater financial constraints.
