I haven't drank wine for for sometime but used to enjoy a bit with food etc.
The trouble is I know nothing about wines and most of what I usually bought was always sharp leaving a vinegar type taste in my mouth!

Does anyone have any recommendations for a good red wine which tastes nice and not sharp like vinegar?

depends what you want it for and how much you want to spend.

That said you cant go wrong with a nice german medium sweet wine like

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Liebfraumilch

The tesco version is quite nice as is the aldi varient, only £3 odd quid a bottle if you fancy trying something cheaper to ease your self into it.

Depends what your taste of drinks is like really sweet, dry, tart, fruity ect ect ?

Means nothing, there are hundreds of different types. Totally depends on what your taste is and whether you're having it with food etc. Same with any drink really, there are nice ones and not so nice ones, everyone is different!

How does it mean nothing??

I've tried shit loads of wine and it all tastes the same no matter what the cost i'd say that means something.

£350 a bottle? You could buy the whole of Wirral for that.

Gran Sangre De Toro FTW, plus you get a plastic bull with the bottle!

your taste buds must be absolutly destroyed if you think every bottle of wine tastes the same, pretty much every bottle even the same type but different brands taste different sometimes very subtly but more often than not theres a huge difference between bottles.

Even as obvious as red tastes completly different to white :-/

Chianti's are always nice.

I'll try and find a bottle I had a week or so back, wasn't technically a chianti as it was made in a steel cask, but tasted so fruity i was shocked.

Wasn't cheap though

I drink far too much wine
