Lots of the people at work are taking Champix. One guy smoked 40 a day, the other 20 and they both stopped within a week. I also got my missus mum to get them too and she now has also quit.

People cant recommend them highly enough.

Uh-oh, this thread will be filled with 7 pages of people saying "shouldnt have started anyway"

My Mrs has the odd few every day, only about 3 though. I'd like her to stop, but she says "well i like it" ...so what can i do?

I really should try, last time I managed about 3 days on patches. At the moment i'm smoking far to much, I'll cut down first and then look into the options.

I'm always starting and quitting

I love it too much and always give in.

Quitting is easy tho, just don' do it anymore it's easier than people make out however you have to WANT to do it or t won't work

Have never tried Any of those gums or patches. No point in replacing an addiction to nicotine with nicotine it will suck for 3 days and then you be fine

You say that Jambo, but I live with 2 smokers, so during the working day it wasnt too hard, I was drinking a bit more coffee than normal but getting on with things.

Drive home felt far from routine, and when I got home the girls would be going for a fag and i'd be left sitting in the living room itching, eventually I was just snappy and moody, wasn't myself and just went back too it.

I've heard some strange things about Champix, it has different names depending where you are in the world, I have been told about people having the weirdest dreams and massive mood swings ect.. I'd look into it a bit more before substituting cold turkey for champix.

I think I smoked for a few months while in school, just to fit in kind of thing.

It's probably doesn't apply the same as quitting when you're older but I gave up by going cold turkey, replacing them with sweets most the time, sugary snacks all day long.

had the odd spliff now and again but that's different

Just stop buying them, or try out an electronic cigarette

I've seen those electric thingymabobs, might invest in one! It doesn't help when my parents roll 300+ menthols a week.
