Right this might seem like strange thread but im looking to see what cars people think are very good value for money and when you have paid for them it seems like every last penny was worth it.

If you had 5k to play with and wanted something newer than a corsa has to be around a 05/55 plate or higher.

Fully loaded i.e leather,electric mirrors,windows etc etc.

Either petrol or diesel, must be at least 150BHP and do 50Mpg average.

low tax band!

Reason im asking this just general chat really as ive asked a few mates and had various responses

Yeah, 3.0 CDTi Signum... Usually have loads of kit, plenty of power, and a remapped 3.0 V6 diesel would be pretty nippy!

so it can be a petrol aslong as its a diesel? .. dont think there are many 150bhp petrol engines that will average 50mpg

we'd all love to say:

"i want a car that is brand new, not much money, is pink in colour, shoots rockets out the exhausts, averages 50+ mpg but is quick enough to beat a veyron"

tbh you have to compromise on your options lol, you'll be looking hard to find that
