first things first please dont post "its disgusting" or "they look crap or dirty"
i know some things like a name or swirly tribal mostly look shit but what i am interested in is getting a nice colourful lotus, its just in the thinking stage and im looking for opinions on the area etc
iv done my apprenticeship and im fully qualified and since ill probably always be in engineering i cant see a problem in that sence and its becoming more accepted anyway,
its not a first tattoo either. just looking for hopefully non biased opinions

i get what your saying and i know japanese isnt original and for the most part has been bastardised but my sleeves are japanese and it is my favourite style so it would have to be japanese and also on the left of my neck

im about to go bed ill post a pic tomorrow, one is koi and flowers the othe is seo from afro samurai wrapped in a dragon with flowers and a hanya both 3/4 they are on my facebook which i think isnt privte

i have tattoo on my neck, you have to remember its there forever and for future job interviews and jobs you might have to hide it etc.

I've always said I wouldn't get one where it can't be hidden by a long sleeved shirt.

My brother has one on either side of his neck and on the front under his chin.
There not bad tattoo's but its a bit much imo, just can't be hidden tbh

I like them on the neck, but a mate of a mate has one on his neck and I've been out a few times with him drinking and the bouncers havent let him into the clubs or pubs.
They never actually say its the neck tattoo but I think it is. The last time they said he'd been spotted on CCTV looking too drunk in the high street but we hadnt even gone through the high street.

also its worth noting alot of tattooists will not tatoo you on your neck for the first time, they will ask if you have already have them on there.

That's exactly why I had my tattoo done on my leg and any others I'll have done will always be in places that aren't on show when wearing work clothes! Doesn't always create the best impression.

Ive seen a few people turned away from places when out due to neck tattoos too.
IMO I wouldnt employ anyone who had visible tattoos like that, not because they would bother me, but they cou;d/would bother some customers enough for them to go elsewhere.
