I didn't.
Never heard of it tbh. If you've got advertising budget you're better of targeting Student Union papers. Go for the larger Uni's too. University of Bedfordshire one was shit.

From what I have been told this is going out in information packs to all UNI students. 400000 copies.

400,000 of anything got to be worth while.
EDIT: Condom samples stuck to card, inserted into the mags is probably one of the best ideas I can think of - try and get a deal with your supplier n'all that. Open the mag, falls out, picked up, captive audience.

Yea, time is short to get in, money is low, so thats not gonna be an option, as much as i would like it to be.
It would also be MEGA $$ to supply 400,000 condoms
Ive been offered 1/4 page (C5) with free advert desgin if i supply text/logos/images etc
Hmmmmm

What you're saying doesnt make sense? Its going out to all students at which universities? There are far more than 4000 students in the UK. If its going out shortly in an information pack, my best bet is that it's a Freshers guide, which is a fantastic place to put a condom ad, as you know what freshers week is like! But each uni does a different freshers week so a different magazine. So it may only be for one uni.

How much they asking for a 1/4 page out of interest?
Personally I think you'll find most students will just throw the magazine and not look at it, certainly not the adverts.
Would you not be best looking at online advertising - for two reasons imo. One is that you're selling online anyway so you can target people who are currently online and can go direct to your shop (rather than have to remember to go on after seeing your website in a magazine). And the second is that it will often be cheaper than magazine advertising.
Look in to Facebook targeted ads. Can specify the age group, sex, interests of the person, etc. to try and aim it at the 16-30 male market.

If it's something given to freshers when they start, it will end up in a drawer and get chucked out at the end of the year when they move out. The amount of crap you get given when you start uni is stupid. You never read it.

Yea, ive given up on this idea. I asked on the biggest student forum i could find who had heard/read it, and ive had no response in 24hours. So i can only assume its a thrown away/not worth while magazine.
Ive gone with some facebook ads instead
