ive herd one or two people say that redtops can beat suburu?

what kind of bhp could you achive with having a straight through system on a redtop ive been told

4-2-1
decat
backbox can achive a minimun of 13-15bhp so that would make it slightly over 160??

any help thanks

People talk so much crap about valvers.
They are quick but they wont beat every car that overtakes you.

Power all depends on how good the engine itself is.

a redtop with that sort of setup will probably just achieve factory figures maybe 3-5 bhp more if its a good engine.

and a standard redtop corsa wont beat a 270bhp impreza. the corsas are a bit lighter but not enough to make up for the difference in power

I think in the early days of redtop Corsas they were quick little cars, most hot hatches of the day were only 120-130bhp. These days though, its not unusual for standard hot hatches to have 200bhp.

The advantage you do have in a Corsa B though is the fact that they are sub 1000kgs!

So you would put it against other cars that have 150bhp per tonne!

i can see every ones point ov view yeh they are like 20 year old engines and have lost alot ov power but lookin at sum races on youtube they seem to win 10/10, alot ov redtop engines have been hammerd and loose power but im sure they are still quicker than a saxo vts/106 gti so that all that matters around my way there are so many so id b happy to hopefully show them up haha

they do beat alot of things on the road though, because you cant really go wrong with them a redtop is gunna be about 150 bhp fact. not some made up figure 99% or boy racers dream up

Poverty spec scoobies, 200bhp turbo models, are similar.

4x4 losses make a big difference as speeds rise. U'd be raped form a standing start.

Wouldn't be so confident about 106/Saxo 16v's either. Totally depends on engine state. And thse would destroy you round bends.

Haven't got a clue where your getting 10-15bhp increase from a backbox though
