Thought id bung a few pics up of a ""little" job ive been doing at work recently. Its a friend of the managers, bought as a write off to repair and go back on the road. Its a 08 plate Corsa Breeze.
How the car turned up for me:
As you can see, both chassis legs are bent to fuck
Also you can see the passenger inner wing is fuubarred
Drivers side leg, bent to fuck, but saveable
Passenger leg, too far gone to save.
So i pulled drivers leg over, with help of a brace to tweak the front of it that little more
All straight
Passenger leg again
As you can see ive now removed the inner wing, i have also had to strip a lot more off the car to do the next process, subframe, passenger suspension, brake pipes and ABS unit.
Now time to cut off the passenger chassis leg
Cut off the end:
Inside view
Then remove it all back to the bulk head - NOT easy:
Outside view
Thats as far as i have got so far, ill get more pics along the way
Any questions ill try get them answered

He will be paying cheap cause hes a mate of the managers, but he also owns a scrapyard, so all parts etc he can get easilly. He will have got it cheap, very cheap.

Same as jambo. If he got it for peanuts then fair enough. Although Suppose he is getting it done cheap as chips. Looks like top work though.
If you fancy a commute you can work for me

Not a clue, not for me to ask what my managers charging his mate really is it
It will be cheap though, other wise it wouldnt be worth doing, can get some MEGA cheap cars doing this.

nice of them to supply it with engine out already, amazes me still to this day when guys at work do major chassis leg replacement and repairs.
Hardest one i saw was a NSX that looked like u have there on the back end but we replaced both legs, bet you got throught a few spot weld drill bits on that leg.

Is it safe just bending it back like that? wont it be really weak if its involved in another crash?

Impressive work!
I don't think I'd ever want to own a car that had been in that state though regardless of the level of workmanship when repairing it, just me being uber paranoid I guess!

Thank you Ryan
Yeah Graeme, nice to have engine out, wouldnt have been able to do it other wise. Supprisingly i only used 2 spot weld bits for the leg and the inner wing
Thanks Rich, but tbh, if you came to look at the car to buy, all the gaps etc will be ok by the time its finished, all other parts to go on are bolt on, and theres that much stuff to cover up the chassis leg, you more than likely wouldnt be able to tell (although this one is on the register as a write off) but some cars are damaged like this, and un-recorded and repaired and sold on. No-ones any wiser.
Its easy money to be made. I bought an 02 plate Astra last year, basic 1.6 8v, 70k, i paid £600 for it, replaced all the locks and a suspension strut, MOT'd it, VIC checked it, stood me at £700. Sold it a week later for £1300. Easy £600 made.

UPDATE:
Chassis leg put into place freely
Welded in
Front beam tried on, perfect fit after some minor adjustment
Trial fit inner wing
Screwed on tempory
Trial fit outer section
Bonnet and wings tried on
Gaps somewhat near (bear in mind the wings and bonnet are non-genuine also)
Thats all from me folks, sealed it all up now, ill stick subframe and suspension on tommorow, then they are collecting it and finishing the rest.
