Wanting to get my arden blue corsa colour coded. However, the bodyshop I used to get some rust removed from my tailgate and resprayed said they can't do the black plastics because the paint will just fall off, which I know is a load of tosh as I've seen numerous corsa's colour coded. Anyone recommend a bodyshop as close to Northamptonshire as possible and able to colour code the black plastics to a good standard? Cheers.

the textured plastics that you get on uncolourcoded stuff can be a pain as it traps moisture, most bodyshops will paint it but preface that they cannot guarantee the paint will never flake as they also cannot guarantee they can get all the moisture out.

before any of the ed type know it alls come and tell me that im talking crap or the bodyshop that told me that must be crap and talking shit, this was from a volkswagen approved body repair shop that iv used a lot in the past and they are really really good bodyshop. I have high standards and they always finish to a lot higher quality then my expectations

Basically what they lad at the bodyshop said to me this morning, apparently the plastics constantly give off chemicals which means in time the paint will just peel. Can't see how this is the case though when there are various cars on here that have been colour coded and look awesome

bit of a trek from you really, South Buckinghamshire.
edit/ just seen you are willing to travel so all good

The problem with plastics is if they are not new there is a risk of the owner using silicone products to freshen up the plastic. this is waht the paint doesnt stick to.
as long as you remove all this residue with thinners/spirit wipe and key it up correctly its fine.
every car now comes with plastic bumpers and have done for years, ever heard of one peeling from factory

if it peels, you're not doing it right
