Just bought an LG 37LE5300 TV today and whilst setting it up I'm having trouble with the sound output through my Amp. I literally swapped my old Samsung 32" LCD over for this new one but now I'm not getting sound through my Amp.

At the moment my PS3 is outputting via HDMI to the TV, and then the TV is connected to the Amp using coaxial.

Is there an option I havent ticked in the Menu's or something? I'm stumped and eagerly awaiting a decent sound to match the decent picture!

It probably only has optical on it like the new Samsung I got the other day. I posted a similar thread. You sure the one you've got it plugged into isn't marked as an input? The one I assumingly stuck mine into was

So are you saying that only one end of the optical cable will fit the amp and the other the tv/ps3?

TV is output. So in theory then it should be working between tv and amp?

Yeah it's red/white from tv to amp. And now having looked at the back it says 'av in'

Optical from TV to amp, it won't pass the 5.1 sound through though (unless something has changed recently, which it may have) you'd need optical from PS3 to amp as well.

Just seen you replied, ignore me.

Thanks

As it stands I have optical from amp to tv, and hdmi from tv to ps3. And it works. I think it was a setting on my amp.
