seems a very ugly problem is rearing its head! is it me or is it becoming far too popular to insure your car without declaring the mods?

the more serious issues i'm talkin about, like when people whap a redtop in a corsa n leave it as a 1ltr on the logbook, then try n hide it when they have a crash.

i 100% dont agree with not declaring an engine conversion, but small things like wheels ect arnt really a biggy are they?

well thats what i were mostly onabout, however a mod is classed as anything different from standard factory spec. but people that put redtops in, then crash them because they dont appreciate the power, and put in a claim. becoming a worse problem.

aye same I would declare an engine if it looked a lot different, but suspension etc they will never know unless its stupid low.
eg if I went from a 1.2i to 1.4i on a nova or something no chance would I declare that.

they can't handle anything mate, just drive like dicks and dont think of the consequences. one of the problems with the first car is it usually comes from mummy or daddy.

Me and the majority of my mates are all 18/19 and haven't had an accident in 1/2 years...

I drove like a dick when i passed, i crashed within a month, the car was fully paid for by me, petrol, car and inurance. Shit happens, its a learning curve.

I've been driving for over 5 years since 17 and haven't crashed, just been reversed into and someone drove into the side of me at a junction, neither my fault!
I don't think crashing a car so soon after passing is a learning curve IMO.

Of course it is, you drive like a dick, you crash, you LEARN not to drive like a dick?

Crashing is likely and you do learn from it.
Not sure where your figures come from though about not declaring mods getting more popular? Modding a car and not declaring it to your insurer has been around as long as mods have. I'm not sure the trend is any different. In fact if anything, it's actually got easier to declare things because a lot of insurance companies are more receptive to it. I knew a time when if you told them you had changed the wheels, you would find it difficult to get insurance at any price.
