Poll: Style or Speed?
I like the track and performance first.
I like cars to look good first.
  50/50 I appreciate both.

I know this is quite simplistic but I just wondered what people would class themselves within the 2 catagories of prefering track cars and driving and such like or if you are more interested in not being too fussed about performance and willing to sacrifice some of that for a certain style whatever it may be, euro and cleaned or big lairy bodywork etc

Quite a broad range of people and cars on here so thought it could be quite interesting

I'd prefer style mixed with performance, I'm not into all this track stuff if I'm honest.

Few subtle mods exterior and interior wise to get it looking fresh and then a few bits on engine...

There's no excuse for a car being intentionally untidy, if anything, a well prepared track car should look as good as a show car.

However, money is better spent on performance than aesthetics IMO.

If your on about modifying then obviously only worth spending money on speed (performance so suspension, breaks etc aswell)

If its buying a new car, it has to have both, or very close to both.

From now on I wouldn't buy anything that needs lots of things changing to get to how I want.

As far as I would go with styling is maybe having an optional extra spoiler or wheels fitted and have the engine remapped. Can't see the point in taking it any further than that. Start ruining cars if you do by making them too specialised in one area instead of being a good all rounder.

Both.

Although since moving the Astra on I don;t give a shit.

I drive a 3door 2.0 V reg focus

I couldn't have the astra just fast though, it had to look good too.

having seen some of the dodgy ass intercoolers hanging off the front of corsas i can honestly say i much prefer performace, but i couldnt have it looking like a sack of shit. i think i manage to keep it neat and tidy and do what it does.

Comes with age IMO

At 17 i wanted to have the loundest sound syteam and the lowest car

At 21 i just want to learn to drive and have a car to do that in! Still a slight mix of style tho!

Got to be both, but for me a decent looking car comes first. Pulling up outside peoples houses in a 10 year old car isn't a good look and doing a 'professional' job (surveyor) makes you look like you suck at what you do.

That said, i wouldn't be buying anything that couldn't safely and quickly overtake on NSL roads

I said 50/50, although my car is about speed around the bends and making the 12v power last lol, looks is important too, although if i had to lose a bit of the handling/speed for looks, i wouldnt do it.

50/50 altougth style comes with speed in some instances, for example bigger wheels = bigger brakes.

and

Neons = 20bhp
Big waing = 50bhp
and so on....

It's horses for courses imo, there's no harm in having a nice tidy track car, but when going all out it's a bit more function over form so aesthetics may not be the first concern. Money would be better spent getting that extra 20bhp instead of getting the door repaired if it has scratches or whatever.

Although I like my car as I think it has both It's pretty quick and it has a few small touches that make it look that bit different. People always say to me they can tell it's not an ordinary model, but can't quite put their finger on what it is. Plus it's (usually) super clean
